And the great thing about printing to the PDF format, is that you suddenly have access to all of Illustrator's PostScript printing capabilities. But we really don't want to do that, so I'm just going to go ahead and cancel out. Now, you can overwrite it you can switch from Book color to, say, RGB, at which point you could then change the color type to Process Color. And it's dimmed, meaning that it is hardwired that way. And sure enough as we can see here in the swatches dialogue box, our color type is set to spot-color. At which point I can go ahead and double-click on this item called PANTONE 285C. And then I'll go up to the window menu and I'll choose the swatches command to bring up the swatches panel. And to confirm that I'll just go ahead and click on this top shape with the black arrow tool. Now, the first thing I want you to notice about this logo is that both shades of blue are represented by a spot-color.
And as we'll see, Illustrator is better at this than Photoshop but you have to be careful as well.
